Come late June 2012, the adventure will begin. A 2,552 mile journey down the Mississippi River, from it's origin in Lake Itasca, MN to the salty river delta that pours into the gulf of Mexico.

Transportation will be provided by a 17' hand crafted cedar strip canoe. My fellow seafarer, Stevie, will be doing most of the construction of our vessel. He has been doing some apprentice work with a local canoe carpenter, honing his skills for completing the estimated 200 hours of labor involved with building a schooner of this magnitude.
